I really keep trying to update the blog on a more regular basis, but to be honest, I am stuffed if I know where all the hours of my day disappear to.
I want to keep the blog going, I really love reading back through all the things we have done over the last 5 years.
So, once again, here is a rather long winded entry of what we have been up to:-
Mieke
Is at 3 year old kinder this year and absolutely loving it. The kinder she is at run a fantastic program. It is an older building that has heaps of space. So it means that the 3yo kids get to have their own room, their own displays, their own space and they don't have to share it with the big kids. It also means that going to 4yo kinder next year will be exciting because Mieks will get to move up to the big kids room.
Mieks has also made the change from Little Monkey's Dance classes to Tap Chimps - my little girl is learning how to tap dance. I am so proud of her - it takes such a lot of concentration and effort. The classes are fantastic. It is a brand new class this year and there are only 2 kids in it! Kelly, the teacher, is terrific with the kids, she really encourages them to them to work really hard. They are learning a dance at the moment that brings tears to my eyes every week. These really are the times I have to lap up and enjoy, because I know that I only have her at home to myself for just over 18 months (although after the day we've had today - it seems like forever away).
Jarvis
Is really just a bugger. I'm really not sure if it is a 'boy' thing, or whether he is just a wicked child! He bit Sam tonight and really hurt him. Needless to say, he got in big trouble! After Sam yelled, Jarvis was sobbing, so I think he realised what he did was wrong. Everything just seems to be really hard work with him at the moment. Tonight the battle was dinnertime. All he wanted to do was feed himself and he just kept chucking tantrum after tantrum - what is with high pitched squealing. Mieks never did that. The funniest thing though is that he bangs his head when he doesn't get his own way - he hasn't yet worked out that he only hurts himself.
On a positive note though, he really is gorgeous and I do love him to death. Like all Mums I just get tired & frustrated. Jarvis has a couple of words he uses occasionally; Mum, Dad, Ta and that is about it. Just the other night in the bath he pointed to the taps and came out with something that sounded like tap!
Sleeping through the night is a bit hit and miss. Last week he slept through every night. 7 - 7, but then this week we have had to get up to him at least 3 nights! I am sure I have gotten up to him more times in his first 12 months of life than I have gotten up to Mieke in her whole life. I don't mind having to get up, but I just wish I could get back to sleep. The other morning he was awake at 4.45, by the time I sorted him out and got back to bed it was 5 and I had to be up at 5.45 to get to the gym. Needless to say, I was stuffed by the end of the day.
Anway, Jarvis loves riding his bike, it gives him a bit of freedom. He is up and crawling on his knees (13 Feb). Standing up and walking holding onto the furniture (16 Jan) and has 5 teeth with a 6th & 7th on the way. Teething has been a pain for J, and he has been doing it for such a long time. His teeth really started to move around when he was about 16 weeks old.
That's about it for the blonde haired, blue eyed devil!
Sam
Is well, but busy at work. They expect an awful lot of hours from him. I know that the hours aren't as bad as they could be, but he is gone before the kids have breakfast and is often home after they have had dinner. Although it's not a problem, an extra set of hands at dinner time is always great. He has been out in the shed tonight bottling off some Apple Cider he has been making. There are some apple trees just outside his work and he scavenged a heap of apples and is giving cider making a go.

Life is just busy with being Mum. Mondays we going the library for Story Time, Tuesdays Mieks is at kinder and Jarvis & I do the groceries. Wednesday it's off to Tap Dancing, Thursday back to kinder & Friday night is Swimming lessons. Add to that Fitcamp at 6.15am Monday & Friday & 7pm Wednesday night plus an early morning walk/jog Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday morning and that is me all done. Chuck in some housework and my week is feeling chockers! I have been giving some thought to going back to work, but honestly, I don't have time!
And with that load of waffle, I'm outta here.
