An update

Seems like a while since I have done a proper update.

Mieke will be 4 months old next week, my gosh time flies. She is so much fun, "talking" heaps and laughing quite a bit too.

Her hips are forming well, according to the surgeon and she is now in a different brace. The exciting part about this brace is that she is allowed out for an hour a day. She is also allowed back in the bath. Hooray. I was a bit worried that she wouldn't be as fond of the water, but she loves it even more. She loves to throw her head back under the water, kick like crazy and really wear herself out. The downside is having to put her back in the brace at the end of the hour. It is usually met with a bit of a wobbly. Not sure where she gets her stubborn streak from.

Yesterday Mieke was feral. She stayed awake for most of the day, whinged and grizzled and refused to go to sleep. Then turned around and slept 14 hours last night. Needless to say, she is back in the good books today.

We had a busy weekend. Aunt Anne the Great came for brunch on Saturday, then we headed over to the park to catch up with one of Sam's mates. We did a bit of kite flying and then caught up with Eggy and Jess. At about 5pm we decided to head to Ballarat for the night to escape the neighbours dog. He barked for about 11 hours on Friday night, and I couldn't face another sleepless night. So we chucked a few things in the car and surprised Fossil and Flossy. On Sunday we had lunch in the city and Aunty Kris came for a visit.

Think this weekend is looking like a quiet one in comparison.

An awesome week.

Well it really has been a very exciting week.

On Tuesday Mieks laughed. It was quite a giggle.

On Thursday Mieke had to have another ultrasound of her hip to see if the sockets are getting any deeper. According to the paeditician at the hospital, they are! She thought that Mieke's left hip looked as good as new. We are now quite excited about seeing the surgeon (in about 10 days), it looks like she might get out of her harness. I'm trying not to get too excited, but things are looking good.

All in all it has been a pretty good week.
